(Un)Holy Smokes! This one's a Sunday night Metal Rager!
Varanger (Orlando, FL) - Pagan Melodeath
Varanger (pronounced Ver-an-gar) is an extreme metal band from the Central Florida area. The band incorporates many different musical styles into its music which creates a massive sound, captivating melodies and an unforgettable performance. From death and speed metal to blackened and folk sounds, Varanger’s melodies capture the spirit of early historical battles while the band’s lyrics focus on the trials and tribulations faced by Northern Europeans in the 9th century.
Conceived by guitarist Tyler Futrell, Varanger features James Whitehurst on drums, Cyn Bakeeff on bass, Kevin Colantonio on guitar, Fred McCarthy on keyboard, and front man Rob McGregor.
In November 2017, Varanger debuted in the Orlando area, providing direct support for Ne Obliviscaris and Allegaeon. With Tyler and Cyn well-known in the Orlando metal arena for their prior work, and James’ professional resume rounding out the line up, Varanger debuted with much success and claimed their spot in the Orlando Metal Scene and are poised to make their mark world wide.
Chalk (Bloomington, IL) - Melodic Death Metal
Kids tested, Mothers really approved... It's been a while since Chalk rocked nightshop, so welcome them back on October 20th!
Angelust (Peoria, IL) - Blackened Rock & Roll
Rock & Roll Outlaws - Whiskey Division 666. THE most EVIL band in Peoria, we're the fucking dregs of society. All we (nightshop) can say for certain is that Angelust rips!
Night Mother (Peoria, IL) - Doom Metal
Two piece Nerd-Doom that absolutely levels each time they hit the nightshop stage!
Indulge, Devour (Central IL) - Metal
Indulge, Devour is a three-piece metal project from Central Illinois. We see agressive music as therapy for our bodies, minds, and souls, relieving us of mental pressure sustained from the stress of our normal lives.
The music scene is a safe place where everyone can be themselves, and we hope that when listening to our music, you can allow your darkness to dance for at least a few moments.
